Offering Second Chances.
Empowering Life Changes.
Fostering New Beginnings.

At My Father’s House, we empower men on parole to lead whole and productive lives by providing transitional housing, job placement assistance, life-skills training and a community of support.

What Sets Us Apart

My Father’s House serves a limited number of participants at a time, thereby providing each man with his own bedroom, human-centric case management, personalized job placement assistance and life-skills training to aid in their successful reintegration into society.

Each person reentering society has unique needs and challenges, requiring individualized support and attention to increase their chances of success. By managing reentry in smaller groups, participants can gradually adjust to life outside of prison and integrate into their communities more effectively.

Our intensive case management approach ensures a low staff-to-client ratio, which has been proven effective based on our impact.

Our Impact

HOUSING - 100%

We have a 100% success rate for housing for the men. None of our participants are homeless, and all leave the program with safe, affordable housing.

Employment – 98%

In the area of employment, we have a 98% success rate among men of working age (i.e., one is now retired) and who have been in the program for at least three months. All the men who have been participants either came to us already employed or were placed in employment with the assistance of My Father’s House and retained employment for the 90 days of tracking and beyond.

Education – 100%

Most participants opt to go directly to the employment track, but some have chosen to first receive a certification to enhance their employment options. My Father’s House placed several men into industry-recognized credential-attainment programs since we began tracking this metric.

Recidivism – 0%

Recidivism is measured differently by different groups. Some say any return to custody is “recidivism,” but a more reasonable approach is to measure how many men have returned to prison for committing a new crime rather than just a technical parole violation. My Father’s House has a long track record of tackling recidivism. Of all the men who’ve gone through the program, only one has returned to prison while at My Father’s House; and this was due to a technical violation (i.e., being out of location) instead of re-offending. We have never had a man return to prison for committing a new crime.

Life at My Father's House

Like at any good home, life at My Father’s House fosters personal growth and a supportive community.

Safety

Order helps us to experience the beauty of Someone who has prepared a place for us. We provide rules and structure to ensure our homes are a safe environment so all participants can experience this beauty. Each person shares the responsibility of making everyone feel safe.

Community

Each house aspires to function as a community in which we help each other to discover the infinite value of our persons. Participants, staff and volunteers are all members of the My Father’s House community.

Purpose

True freedom is not about being able to do what one wants. It is the ability to be the person whom God created us to be and to live out the purpose to which we have been called. It is journeying towards a fulfilled and meaningful life. My Father’s House aspires to create places where it is possible to live this freedom.

“Coming out of prison, I was anxious about my future. My Father's House welcomed me with open arms and gave me hope when I needed it most. Thanks to their hands-on support, I turned my life around.”

Meet Our Team

Jim Blum

Founder

While incarcerated, Jim developed a desire to help others through ministry. Having made a successful transition on parole with the support of family and friends, he understands first-hand the challenges men face after prison as they move forward with their lives. He founded MFH to provide the kind of support he received to those in less fortunate circumstances.

Before joining My Father’s House, I gained extensive experience working in both corporate and startup environments. For over a decade, I dedicated my time to volunteering in prisons and ‘on the streets’, feeling a profound calling to serve the most underserved and vulnerable members of society—the world’s modern-day lepers. At My Father’s House, I am driven by the opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of those who need it most.

Kyle McClure

Project Coordinator

With a profound background in ministry and dedicated service within the Church, I am passionate about guiding others towards renewal and hope. At My Father’s House, I assist individuals transitioning from prison to reintegrate into society, believing that every person deserves a second chance. Through this work, I strive to help others embrace the powerful opportunity for new beginnings and realize their potential for a brighter future.
