At our organization, we believe true transformation includes physical well-being, which is why we were thrilled to welcome Sara Roper, a nurse practitioner with expertise in nutrition. Sara’s workshops go beyond lectures, offering practical, budget-friendly strategies for healthy eating and her engaging “fridge audits.” These lighthearted but impactful sessions, where she evaluates pantries and fridges, have taught the men valuable lessons about food storage, meal planning, and making healthier choices. Her guidance has inspired a ripple effect, with residents sharing recipes and cooking together, fostering not just healthier habits but also independence and confidence.
We recently partnered with the Colorado Energy Department to provide e-bikes for the men in our program as they transition to building new lives. Transportation often stands as one of the biggest barriers to securing jobs, attending important appointments, and managing daily responsibilities. We’re thrilled to offer our participants a solution that enhances their mobility and eases their journey. Many of the men have shared how these e-bikes have transformed their commutes, saving them both time and energy. We are immensely grateful for this opportunity to make such a meaningful difference in their lives.
Financial education is not just a skill—it’s a life-changer that can lift someone out of hardship and set them on the path to long-term success. At its core, financial literacy is about empowerment, freedom, and creating a future full of possibility
At My Father’s House, one of our guiding principles is Valuing the Dignity of the Human Person. This principle shapes everything we do, from our interactions with participants to the environment we create in our homes. We believe that restoring dignity begins with providing a space that feels welcoming and supportive. That’s why we’ve launched our Home Beautification initiative. The purpose of Home Beautification is simple but powerful: to transform our houses into warm, inviting homes where men can feel respected and valued. We understand that the environment plays a significant role in personal growth, and a beautiful, comfortable home can provide a sense of stability and hope.
When considering the benefits of hiring the formerly incarcerated, Christian business leaders have a unique opportunity to not only fulfill their mission of serving others but also improve their bottom line. As CEOs of small businesses, you already understand the value of loyalty, perseverance, and hard work in the workplace. By offering a second chance to those who have been incarcerated, you open the door to untapped potential, while upholding Christian values of mercy, redemption, and restoration.
