BEAUTY: The Second Transcendental

In the tradition of Plato and later Thomas Aquinas, Beauty is not mere decoration—it is a transcendental mark of being itself. Where there is harmony, proportion, and radiance, there is the fingerprint of the divine.

At My Father’s House, we take this seriously.

TRUTH: The First Transcendental

At My Father’s House, we believe that transformation begins with the recognition of reality. Not a curated version. Not a sanitized story. But reality in full. The ancients called this encounter truth—veritas—the first of the Three Transcendentals. Plato and Aristotle taught that all human beings are drawn by nature toward Truth, Beauty, and Goodness. These are not optional values. They are the very shape of the real—the signature of God across creation. To pursue them is to become more fully human. To reject them is to fracture the self.

The Fellowship of Recovery

“All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.” The men reflected on Lord of the Rings and the themes of addiction, sobriety and freedom.

The Joy of Community Participation: Reconnecting Beyond My Father’s House

At My Father’s House, fostering community connection is central to our mission. Recently, our participants embraced this by helping a local senior home decorate for the holidays, spreading cheer through lights, wreaths, and heartfelt moments of laughter and shared stories with residents and staff.

Empowering Healthy Choices: Discover the Secrets in Your Fridge

At our organization, we believe true transformation includes physical well-being, which is why we were thrilled to welcome Sara Roper, a nurse practitioner with expertise in nutrition. Sara’s workshops go beyond lectures, offering practical, budget-friendly strategies for healthy eating and her engaging “fridge audits.” These lighthearted but impactful sessions, where she evaluates pantries and fridges, have taught the men valuable lessons about food storage, meal planning, and making healthier choices. Her guidance has inspired a ripple effect, with residents sharing recipes and cooking together, fostering not just healthier habits but also independence and confidence.

Empowering Men’s Journeys with E-Bikes and Opportunity

We recently partnered with the Colorado Energy Department to provide e-bikes for the men in our program as they transition to building new lives. Transportation often stands as one of the biggest barriers to securing jobs, attending important appointments, and managing daily responsibilities. We’re thrilled to offer our participants a solution that enhances their mobility and eases their journey. Many of the men have shared how these e-bikes have transformed their commutes, saving them both time and energy. We are immensely grateful for this opportunity to make such a meaningful difference in their lives.
